Description

A large Lightning Ridge crystal opal cut as a love-heart cabochon, with a translucent purple-pink body and shifting play-of-colour.

In this lighting the stone shows a soft lavender to rose-pink body, with specks and flashes of violet, blue and peach moving across the face. In cooler daylight the purple and blue tend to come forward; in warmer indoor light the pink and gold tones become more noticeable. Because the opal is transparent, the colour has a glowing, internal look rather than sitting only on the surface.
